Holiday Trifecta-Tea, Earth, & Picnics

Today is April 21, also known as National Tea Day! I love me some tea. Most people know that tomorrow is Earth Day. Actually, it is the 50th anniversary of the first Earth Day! It is also a New Moon which is an excellent time for us to begin new, good habits for ourselves. Guess what, it doesn’t end there. April 23 is National Picnic Day!

So, here is the best way to celebrate this week. Pick the day of the week with the sunniest weather, pack your picnic basket, and head out to the park/yard/anywhere you can legally, safely sit on the earth while practicing social distancing. Enjoy a snack, sip some tea, and plant the seed of good intentions for yourself.

For inspiration, I have included pictures of tea.

Herbal with local honey.

Irish Tea

Easy tips on how to be green at home.

  1. Plant a vegetable garden

  2. Switch to energy efficient light bulbs

  3. Use a reusable water bottle

  4. Open your windows to use natural light when possible

  5. Pay your bills online

  6. Fix leaky faucets

  7. Collect rainwater for your plants (I save the water from boiling eggs for my plants-extra nutrients)

Some of the succulent survivors from winter.

Also, famous picnics from some books and movies.

“Do you want a leg or a breast?”

By Kenneth Grahame. “Oh my! Oh my! Oh my!” Mole replies with his head in the basket.

aka the “Do Re Mi” scene

Happy celebrating, friends! Take care of yourselves and go enjoy an inspired picnic.
