Words of Wisdom: A.A. Milne Edition

Many of you know that my passions consist of a variety of things but mainly music, holistic wellness, and my interests as an author. With January 18th being A.A. Milne’s birthday, I am amusing myself by finding quotes that you might think were of the wellness realm if you didn’t know they were from the mind that brought Winnie the Pooh to life. Here are some of my favorites.

“Weeds are flowers too, once you get to know them.” We must be careful not to judge others, or we could be perpetuating discrimination, their feelings of isolation, and self worth. After all, …

“A little consideration, a little thought for others, makes all the difference.”

“Don’t underestimate the value of doing nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can’t hear, and not bothering.” The power of stillness is so healing at times, for example, when we practice meditation.

“Promise me you’ll always remember: You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” Sometimes we just need a friend to remind us of all we have accomplished and how far we have come. Beyond that, we need to learn to give ourselves credit for the strength and wisdom we have gained from life’s lessons.

“Rivers know this: there is no hurry. We shall get there some day.” Oh the magic that happens when we find the right flow! The path of least resistance is a joy when we can find the blessings in the journey and live in the present.

“Piglet noticed that even though he had a Very Small Heart, it could hold a rather large amount of Gratitude.” I will always preach the power of gratitude. It is the quickest feeling that pulls from the slumps we all can fall into.
